In accordance with the DOI Human Capital Strategic Plan, we are providing information regarding the availability of student and internship programs to our employees, supervisors and managers.  Here are some resources for your review and use as appropriate/applicable!

Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP)
The Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP) provides Federal employment opportunities to students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment as degree seeking students taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited high school, technical, vocational, 2 or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school.  The SEEP, established December 16, 1994, is a streamlined program which replaces the old Federal Student Employment Program by consolidating four programs:  the Cooperative Education Program; the Federal Junior Fellowship Program; the Stay-In-School Program; and the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Program.  Follow this link for more information!

Department of the Interior Intern Programs
DOI University's Intern Programs provide a planned, systematic, competency-based approach to developing future leaders, at all levels, for the Department of the Interior.  The Governmentwide Acquisition Management Intern Program, Office of the Secretary Management Intern Program, and the R. Schuyler Lesher Financial Management Career Intern Program offer enhanced development opportunities for high potential future leaders.  Follow this link for more information!

Presidential Management Fellows Program
The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program was established by Executive Order in 1977 to attract to the Federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.  By drawing graduate students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, the PMF Program provides a continuing source of trained men and women to meet the future challenges of public service.  Follow this link for more information!

American University, Washington DC - American Indian Program - Washington Internships for Native Students (WINS)
The Washington Internships for Native Students (WINS) offers students of sovereign American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian (AI/AN/NH) nations the opportunity to build leadership skills while living, studying, and interning in Washington DC.  Developed in response to the White House Initiative on American Indians and Alaska Natives, this enriching program offers qualified students full scholarships funded by American University and sponsoring organizations.  Participating students will gain professional work experience through interning at a federal agency or private firm, take courses focusing on Native American public policy concerns, and enjoy engaging social and cultural extra-curricular activities.  Follow this link for more information!

The Washington Center, Campaign 2008 Presidential Academic Seminar Series
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an independent, nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington DC for academic credit.  The largest program of its kind, The Washington Center has 70 full-time staff and over 40,000 alumni, many of whom are in leadership positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors in the United States and around the world.  Follow this link for more information!

Indian Affairs Honors Program
The Indian Affairs Honors Program empowers Indian Affairs managers to offer available jobs to top American Indian and Alaska Native graduates of accredited colleges/universities, community colleges, technical schools and high schools.  The Indian Affairs hiring program for graduates of colleges or universities has two segments: (1) Indian Affairs College/University Honors Program, and (2) Indian Affairs Graduate/Professional Honors Program.  Follow the link above for more information!
